Metacritic
IMDB
The Verdict:
Spaceballs is a spoof movie of Starwars, and like most movie with Mel Brooks is funny. In my opinion the movie wasn't really that funny but is somewhat enjoyable. The basic plot line is that Dark Helmet (Rick Moranis) wants to suck all the air out of this planet. He is able to do this with his overly large transformer spaceship.
Despite the clear parodies of some of the main characters, there wasn't really a parody of Luke Skywalker, instead there was Lone Starr which was sort of a mixture of Han Solo, and Luke Skywalker. Of all the characters I think the most leaver was Pizza The Hut, which was a fat pizza monster thing.
So if you couldn't tell from the description of a few of the character the movie is a little silly, and at times just kind of stupid, and like all light hearted movies has a super super happy ending. This is the kind of movie that I wouldn't really recommend seeing because well its on TV so much that you will eventually come across it, and if there isn't anything else on then it might be worth watching.

Forgetting Sarah Marshall
IMBD
Metacritic
The Verdict
Forgetting Sarah Marshal is basically about this nice guy Peter (Jason Segel), who has just broke up with his long time girlfriend. Peter's problem is that he was a really nice guy and some what of a doormat, and was heart broken by the news that his girlfriend was breaking up with him. So the start of the story sounds kind of sand, but it is actually hilarious. Then Peter decides to go to Hawaii which turns out to be where his ex was vacationing with the other guy. It's kind of hard to go much further into the plot without giving it away, but the movie is really funny and has some what of a cheesy ending.
Although the movie was very funny there were a few things that I didn't really like, one of which was the whole vampire opera, it was just kind of stupid. The final product was also really stupid and cheesy. I think the most hilarious thing was the satire of CSI in which peters ex-girlfriend Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) is the star.
So if your looking for a feel good movie for the end of your summer this is defiantly a flick worth renting.

Son of Rambo
The Verdict
When I saw the trailer for Son of Rambo I thought it was going to be a hilarious movie spoofing Rambo sweeded style. But unfortunately the movie was had a deeper, more boring plot about two kids from very different family's that came to be best friends "blood brothers". I wanted to like the film, but at times it was just too cheesy, and the touching ending didn't really do anything for me. I think this movie kind of had the same problem as Be Kind Rewind it had
a hilarious trailer, and the sweeded videos on their own were very funny, but the plot behind them was stupid and cheesy.
I think the movie started off good, it had a tom sawyer time charm to it. But the whole french exchange student part was kind of stupid and weird. The length of the movie also kind of ruined it.
So in conclusion the movie was just kind of weird, and too long. Their were a few funny parts but they were few and far between.

Ken Denmead Reviews The Mummy 3
I am a huge fan of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns and have seen both many times. So it was disappointing to me to read the review by Ken Denmead that said the third movie was not good. The points he made were some of my main concerns about the third movie, and I fear that it will not have the re-watch value that the first two movies did. With that being said, he did mention that the their was plenty of action which in my opinion might save the movie from the bad story line.

Mama's Boy
IMDB
The Verdict
Mama's Boy is a movie about a man named Jeffrey Mannus (Jon Heder) who is 29 and still lives with his mother. So basically Jeffery is scared to leave the nurture of
his mother, and for that reason is very strange. Eventually Jeffrey meets a girl Nora Flannigan (Anna Faris) who is also very strange.
But the main plot of the movie is about Jeffrey's mom Jan Mannus (Diane Keaton) who meets a very goofy but nice guy Mert Rosenbloom (Jeff Daniels). Jeffrey is pretty much trying to sabotage their relationship so that it can be just him and his mom.
Their are some very funny scenes which you come to expect with Jon Heder but about 30 minutes into the movie the story begins to pick up and the silliness subsides. The movie is kind of like a coming to age story only the main character is already 29.
It sort of has the super super happy ending that is a little cheesy, but it left you happy and not really hatting the movie. So the movie wasn't fantastic but if you are a fan of Jon Heder you will probably enjoy it. I would say its ok at best, but has a few funny parts and an enjoyable ending.

The Dark Knight
IMDB
Metacritic
The Verdict
The Dark Knight is the second Batman movie staring Christian Bale. I think these newer batman movies are much more dark and intense than the older ones. The villein in this movie is The Joker, one of the classic Batman villains unlike the less popular villain of Batman Begins.
The story that makes people into superheros are always my favorites, like the first Spiderman movie, and Batman Begins. But although this was not my favorite story line it was entertaining, and had some spectacular action.
Like I said earlier the newer movies are much darker than the older ones, one example of this is the villains. The Joker in this movie didn't have the clear cut 50's style purple pin stripe suit that I have come to recognize with the joker. The joker in this movie seems dirtier like a hobo and is sporting scars for a broken household. At first I didn't really like the way the joker was envisioned in this movie, but as the movie continued I thought Heath Ledger did a great job in this new bread of Joker.
Now I mentioned earlier how I loved watching movies that show the making of superheros, but I also love to see the making of villains. Two-face ever since I was little has always been my favorite villain. Watching the making of two face was very cool, and let me tell you this two face is way scarier than any I have ever seen.
So the story of the Dark Knight I found very hard to follow at times, and I think it is one of those movies that every time you watch it you pick up on something you missed the first time. With that being said the story isn't bad, its very entertaining and the action is amazing.
So if you love batman you will likely love this movie, if you like action movies you will likely love this movie, if you don't like action movies you still might like this movie.

The big Lebowski
IMDB
Metacritic
The Verdict
The big Lebowski is about this buy named Lebowski who everyone calls "dude". Well he finds him self in an overly complicated plot which despite the funny parts had no point or conclusion. It's hard to say weather I liked it or hated it, it was kind of funny but not spectacular. I also found it very hard to follow along.
